A knit pumpkin design with a branch stem. No felting required!

Add a little whimsy to your autumn decor with pumpkins covered in colors woven into cross-barred pattern!

The instructions create a plaid pumpkin measuring about 5-1/2 inches wide by about 5-inches high (including the stem).

The pumpkin is knit as one continuous piece. No sewing of seams is required. Knitting begins at the pumpkin's base and ends with a bind off edge at the top, creating an opening for stuffing the pumpkin with fiberfill. Once stuffed, stripes are embroidered into the purl ditches. The stem is a cut branch inserted into the pumpkin's opening. A curly wire vine is then attached.
